Surveys

Being a former houseboat owner, I can't believe that there aren't any survey professionals in the RV industry. No one spending thousands of dollars on a boat would do so without a survey. Most lenders won't talk to you without one.

There are hundreds of threads on FRF about problems that weren't found or showed up later after the "PDI". It is time to have a professional with no dog in the hunt to do surveys for hire by the buyer.

I do not fill out any survey; to me they are a marketing scam to get my name to sell me some junk that I do not need. Or they sell my name to other marketing companies to send me junk mail. And call all hours of the day and night. We have caller ID and an answering machine to screen all of our calls. We get at least 5 to 6 marketing calls a day that go un-answered.

If I have an issues with anything I write the manufacture about the problem. I do not need a survey.

Wrong kind of survey.

There was someone here on the forum that did it.

But otherwise, a simple search yields many:

No wonder so many people get ripped off when buying an RV.

To me that is an RTS inspection and PDI audit. IE: Ready To Ship and pre-delivery .

I think I am fully capable of inspecting a RV and not pay a third part a fee that I can do. I use a PDI inspection sheet that was posted on a Montana site. I used this when I bought my 2010 Cougar and again with our 2016 34RL Cedar Creek.
The only issue I have had where after the fact during our first year of use. Such as LED lights failing and a Lazy Boy Recliner that need some attention. These could not have been found during any PDI.
