Thanks for the heads up about E15. Video was informing!
I have had problems with the E10 with my Mercury 4.3 boat engine and fuel system. I had to replace all my fuel line hose and fuel pump. I was told by a company that works on and repairs boats to get some Starbite Startron gasoline additive and use it on all full ups, so I did. What a difference! The engine runs better and even get a little better fuel mileage. So, now I put it in all of my internal combustion engines. I have also notice better fuel economy in both of my trucks. I buy the quart bottles which treat 512 gallons.
Just my 2 cents and experience.

Good video.
I wrote a letter to the EPA when they 1st proposed this craziness of E15. I think the time will come when they will phase out E10, and E15 will be lowest percentage of ethanol that will be offered at many stations.
I still buy 100% gas when ever possible, even though it costs more.

My neighbor's Cub Cadet's carb was ruined by E10 let alone E15.
If you live in a cold climate, larger concentrations of ethanol also can cause cold-start problems. The E85 postal vehicles in MN will not start below zero degrees on E85. They have to mix other gasoline get them going in the winter. And I worry after the long term effect on fuel lines, hoses, etc. And I don't think that E10 "stores" as well as pure gasoline.
I'm with MTNGUY! I buy pure gasoline for use in all of my small engines and tractors.

Corn is $7/bushel, pushing food prices up, and they are INCREASING the amount of ethanol in the gasoline?
I guess the farm vote is a lot stronger than the mom buying groceries for the kids.

It's great if you can find 100% gasoline, I would buy it. In my area it's all E10...at least its all I can find.

The unfortunate part about this whole debate is that it is heavily linked to politics and special interests. It makes debate potentially inflammatory and it makes accurate information sometimes hard to come by. Pro and Con parties often tell partial truths or exaggerate/downplay potential issues. It is hard to know what to think sometimes. There is so much biased "information" out there.
I was just on the EPA site. They clearly say not to use this fuel in small engines, motorcycles, heavy trucks, etc. And they clearly say 2001 vehicles and up.
I guess all we can do is try to come to our own decision based on the sometimes suspect information we have at hand.

I think that fuel types and availability vary widely by state. Iowa is different than Minnesota for example. Here in MN, I am able to buy 100% gasoline at my Holiday station. It's expensive but I don't use a lot of it. And it is labeled "Not for Use" in anything but small engines, classic cars, etc.

thanks!
I'll check that out to see if we have something similar here in Missouri. And another poster mentioned premium - have to check that out.
I've been using 87 octane trying to avoid the 10% in 89 - but like you said, maybe that's just here in Missouri.

Yeah, I have a problem with stations that are not close. Because of that, I can't fill up every time with pure gasoline, but do fill up when I am in the area that has a pure gasoline station near by.

My father inlaw works for a school board and is friends with the mechanic that takes care of the school board machinery. As an experiment, the mechanic put some ethenol blended "gasoline" in mason jar and let it stand for several months. The "gas" actually started to separate and form a gel like substance!

Our government is seriously screwed up. Corn is for eating. We have millions of tons of oil and coal for energy.

All gas (with some exceptions) in Missouri have ethanol in it. It is required by law. Some exceptions are in the 93 octane. This was done because ethanol in boats, especially, older boats can be destroyed by ethanol. Ethanol draws WATER and when it separates and it will in time cause major problems in your engine. If you have any item, car, boat, lawnmower, weed eater that will sit for long periods of time you MUST use ethanol additives like stabil, startron or a few others. Boat manufacturers are fighting the EPA over ethanol and especially E15. Do not use E85. I guarantee you will have to have your injectors cleaned within one year time frame.

In our closest town, I believe 4 out of 5 carry 100% gas. The 2nd closest town- both (2) stations carry 100%. Other areas its a tossup, but we have quite a few that are 100%, but we have more "Texas Tea" than corn around here in OK!
-We always use 100% for our boat, and any other gas engine around our place, besides our cars.
