Earlier this year I got 1.9% for 36 months.

I'm not so sure $10-15K less than new would get me to buy a truck with 30-40K miles. Less warranty, less service life left, partially worn consumables (like tires!) etc.

Different strokes for different folks. My older brother always buys nice used cars and replaces them every several years. I buy new and keep them for many years. He's convinced his way is the smart way and I'm nuts.

Why buy a late model truck when you can get a New one at the same or better price and have a NEW truck. I am on fixed income and don't buy anything unless I can pay Cash for it, that includes a new truck.

I have never seen the opportunity to get get a new one for less than a used one.
If that was the case then people could buy new then make a profit?
I can see buying an excellent used one that is less than new and below book price as long as it has what you want or you want the last years model because the new one has some more troublesome emission junk you don’t want. Here in crooked CA one also would buy used to save on the annual tax charged buy the state and higher rates charged buy the insurance companies.
Most of the low interest rates on new trucks can be eliminated buy paying cash and getting even a lower price on the new truck, double savings.

And to think....when I bought my house in 84...11.87% was the lowest interest rate around.

The used I just bought for 28k (3 yrs old and just shy of 40k miles) had a sticker price back then of 45k. Certified by Ford with a bumper to bumper warranty for one year plus remaining warranty on other stuff like paint and drivetrain. That's a huge savings for me, also now on a fixed income and only pay cash for vehicles anymore.
