My Maxxis M8008s were made in Thailand. Huge difference from China bombs and the Shan Dong plant. Don't think any Marathons are made in China.

I'm running Maxxis M8008. I'm really liking them. I was adding air to the factory tires that were nitrogen filled every week. I put the Maxxis tires on in Feb and added air once. I do check them often even if it is just sitting at home, bored waiting for us to take it anywhere...

My tire guy said he would not sell Marathons unless the customer insisted on them, he says they are real junk now that they are made in China

I replaced our factory tires with Maxxis M008s last spring and they have been great.

Five tires (spare) installed, balanced, with metal stems, and a three-year warranty that covers road hazards cost me right at $600 from Discount Tire.

I had to take it in a few months later for a tire that kept slowly losing air and they determined the metal stem wasn't properly sealed and was leaking. I watched the technicians put the stems on and inflate the tires, and they do it as fast as they can, so I wasn't surprised. That's also not the fault of the tire manufacturer.

The tires have been great since then. I check the tire pressure all the time and they don't lose pressure.

I am always cautious about keeping the speed less that 65 MPH, even though my wife complains and wants to go faster.

I don't have experience with Marathon tires myself He (tire shop owner for 35 years) had experience with Marathon before the move and after the production started in China. I think that qualifies his opinion.

I read what you wrote . that still does not qualify that all tires from china are junk . they been making them there for a few yrs now . the Opinion from one tire guy does not make all china tires junk . nor does it even mean all marathon tires are junk . it was not long ago that tons of valve stems came from and still do come from china and there are all junk . but still being used by the tire guy . i use steel myself and i don't drink during the day .
