It's only three years old and doesn't have lift arms, or any moving parts, and looks nothing like a bat. But I'm sure anything would help it pull in local stations better depending on terrain. Other than weather, local over the air programming isn't important to me. It's all in what folks want. Personally I'd rather spend $129 to get all the channels I'm already paying for and use the antenna or radio for local info.
