Upside Down?

Wondering how upside down I might be. My wife and I bought our very first camper a couple years ago. It is a 2013 Tracer 3150BHD. We hardly have had time to use it... It even still has that new camper smell. I am thinking about cutting our losses and selling it. What is the best source for determining resale value of a camper?

Craiglist should give you an idea of what others are asking for similar models.

Just curious,
Did you think you would make time for camping or are you just not interested in it?

My DW had never really been camping in a camper before we met as I had actually grown up camping with my family.
So we started tent camping and move to a very used TT to now having a 36' 5th wheel.
She was very very concerned we wouldn't use it enough but we average 30+ camping nights a year.

When selling mine I discovered I could get more for it on craigslist than at a dealership. To price it out I looked to see what similar trailers were selling for on craigslist and rvtrader.com. I started a little higher than I really wanted and in the vibrantly what I wanted.

How does NADA get the data then if nobody is paying these prices? Is it a listing of asking prices? I thought NADA was based on post sale figures like registration data or something.

I just traded in my old trailer on Saturday for a new one. When I looked up the NADA value it was almost exactly in line with what I still owed on it. The dealer gave me the full value for trade-in.

it's exactly what every dealer goes by for trade in and retail values. I know it can't be sold privately at full retail, but it gives you an idea.

The dealer now has my old trailer on their website. Asking price is only about $1000 more than they gave us for it. Depending on how savvy the next buyer is (there are a few obvious problems with the trailer) they aren’t going to make much money off of it after all is said and done.
