When we did our PDI with Major RV I thought they were very thorough. It took 2-3 hours. I believe this site has a PDI check list you can print as well.

Wait for CA Rockwood factory order?
Well, I just heard from them. It went offline on the 7th and will arrive here in California on the 27th. He said its been taking about three weeks due to shortage of delivery transportation.
The dealer called their factory representative. The factory will need the VIN to track its whereabouts. The dealer got the VIN the week it was going offline.

Bummer...
stevedfive - Thanks for the update. I guess we can kiss our beach campsite reservation in Carpenteria goodbye. Still waiting to hear if our trailer has been built...much less started on its long journey west. I almost wish our old trailer hadn't sold so quickly.

It's not the same but you could rent an RV for Carpenteria.

I didn't have a good experience with them either the day I visited their lot after seeing a TV commercial. While I was not ready to buy a new trailer they managed to kill any chance of being my choice if I decide to upgrade.

I spent several days at the Colton Giant RV and gave up. I drove down to Murrieta Giant RV and walked out 90 mins later with the ordered trailer.

Congrats! She's a beauty.
How was your PDI experience at Giant RV? We soured on them after our experience in Colton and didn't consider going to their other locations in Murrieta and Montclair. Wish we had now...still no delivery date from Major RV on the 2304DS we've been promised for two months now. We don't want to start over with a custom order and there are no other '18 models in SoCal to be found. Trying to be patient but the DW and I have both just retired and a beautiful spring is going to waste. Not knowing sucks!

PDI was only ok. We had an appointment but was rushed due to them overbooking the PDIs (7). However, it's a night and day experience when dealing with Murrieta Giant RV. They were wonderful.

Well, we have had the trailer a week or so and are getting it ready for our first outing. I do have to say I am very disappointed in their quality control. One of the recliners was broken on the day of delivery, there chips in the wood edges, staples are sticking out of the wall about 1/2", there is a dent in the window frame that is about the size of a quarter, and the wires for the electric brakes are dangling off the rear axle and only held on by four zip ties.

The electric brake wires dangling off the axles with only zip ties freaked me out too. However, after a year and a half, they are still there, looking just the same. (I may put on some more zip ties next time I think about it.)

Unfortunately, your issues are pretty normal and relatively minor. Not unusual.
All should be warranty fixes and the zip ties are pretty normal.

Sorry to hear about your issues. I hope Giant RV is treating you well and taking care of them.
We just got word our Rockwood 2304DS is finally on its way to SoCal. After this long I hope we aren't faced with any issues that can't be quickly and easily remedied. I've seen for myself how build quality can vary from unit to unit so I'm crossing my fingers I don't have to make multiple trips (90 miles one way) to get things fixed.
Fortunately I still have time to get my checklist together and prepare for the PDI.
Looking forward to lots of camping soon!

A lot of RV's for rent on Craigslist. Some real beaters but some nicer. Mostly, I think, people who need the help to be able to make the payment.
I guess the no or little money down and payments for ten years must get old for most folks.
