Water filter

If you ever need to order any Pur water filter parts, order them from Pur not a dealer. I ordered a CCI-10-CLW Forest River Water Filter Housing and paying almost $20 more doing the wrong thing.

It's cheaper to go to Lowes , you can get the filters there.

Outside portable filter is between 80 and 100 micron which doesn't really filter much at all including alot of bacteria.

I Use between 2 and 5 micron.
Here's a chart.

Ace hardware has them on sale alot.
2 packs fore 3.99
Walmart etc etc

I installed a GE Model # GXWH20S from Home Depot and using the Carbon filter elements Model # FXWTC to achieve a 5 micron filter.

It is installed so that it filters both the city water and the fresh water tank.

This makes the DW happy knowing she has clean water to shower in, also makes me look good!!

If our Pur-water filter ever goes, it will be replaced with one from Lowes or HD, PUR WATER is way over priced in my book.

It is not a good idea to trap bacteria in a filter on a camper. Because we typically disconnect our water source for a period of time between trips, the bacteria will grow in the warm moist material inside the filter. For camping I wouldn’t get too concerned about the micron rating. 30 to 100 is fine. The lower micron filters will reduce flow, pressure and plug easily. I believe a good carbon filter for taste and odor is more practical.

I've got a pure water filter and you can get the actual filter at Lowes
