What alternatives are there for toilet tissue?
I have seen the toilet paper test on you tube, but I prefer to ask the pro's. Is there anything that would be safe to use in RV septic system besides the expensive stuff? TYIA

I performed my own tests and found that Angel Soft dissolves fairly quickly. I use Charmin at home but would not use in my camper. I've been using Angel Soft in my camper with no problems for almost 3 years. However, I also follow the geo method (do a search if you do not know what this is).

We've been using Angel Soft for years with no problems. Just make sure you use plenty of water when flushing.

Plenty of water is the key. I have used regular TP in a pinch (NEVER without a sewer connection) without issues; it just goes out with the rest of the junk.
I DO have a turboflush and use it for 10 minutes or so (and a clear elbow) to make sure it all fishes out.
Remember your RV tank is NOT a septic system. It is a holding tank. It is designed to fill up and be dumped. There should be no "biologic breakdown" going on in there (Except for the end of season total clean out where I use RV-Digest-It and a 72 hour soak to clean the walls and corners).

Herk,
You should consider writing a book on RVing with all the good tips thrown in!
Safe travels & enjoy the journey!

They used to use Sears Roebock catalogue pages, worked then! Any single ply (cheap) will work. Never had a (t)issue in over 20 ywears!

Use Scott read label its septic and rv safe. We have been using this paper since the 60s for rv and home.

Why not use a Walmart bag? Ours hangs on the bathtub water knob. We use whatever brand we want and use as much as we want
And we always make sure to put the "shiny side" facedown in the bag.
Change out the bag as often as needed.

You could add a toilet washer hose deal and use it as a bidet.

Been there; Done That.
http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...c-v-15261.html
WORKS GREAT. DW and I both love it.
EASY bowl cleanup with minimal water usage.
Do not use the built in tap on the flush valve. Make your own so full pressure is available with the flush valve closed. If you use the built in hose "bib", you have to keep the flush open to get water pressure and it is split between the bowl wash and the pressure sprayer.

Charmin. No problems, just listen to Herk and use plenty of water. ALL toilet paper breaks down in water.
