Nice post with good information, ng2951. But the Yamaha EF2400ISHC is listed as "Not Paralleled Capable" on the Wise Sales site: EF2400iSHC Yamaha Generator 2400 WiseSales.com

Regretfully, Wise Sales no longer lists their prices on the Yamaha up front like they used to. Even though they had the best price "up front" when I bought my Yamaha EF2400iS, those types of shopping obstacles force me to move on to someone that openly lists their prices.

Huh, I guess I will have to go read my book on that. I thought my old one was, but I guess I was wrong.

One other important difference between the Yammy 2400 and Honda 2000s. The 2000s have a fuel pump and the 2400s do not.

The Honda 2000s are easily modified to take a "boat tank" to extend fuel run.

The Yamaha is gravity fed and because the way Yamaha handles fuel venting makes it difficult to adapt to a boat tank. It can be done, and there are some aftermarket tanks that use an electric lift pump (I am not fond of this approach because I do not know what safety system it has). I had figured out how to do a gravity feed system, but the truth is the 2400 can pretty much run the AC all night (10 PM to 7AM) on hot, Louisiana nights without refueling.

The dual Hondas cannot do that without the boat tank. So figure at least $2,200 for Hondas, tank, and cables.

Security
I use a big cable lock to lock the Hondas and Yamaha when I was using it. Actually the Yamaha is much easier to secure. Master Lock makes a lock called the Python because that is what it looks like. You drill a hole through the handle frame big enough for the Python's cable and feed it through. Works quite well.

Wise (et al) are selling an armor kit for the Hondas that armors the carrying handle. Kind of pricey, but they do appear to work. Other people have made metal plates that they bolt to the bottom of the generator.

For the most part, thieves are smash and grab types. If they can grab it run they will. If not they will go look for something else unless they are pretty sure you aren't just going to come walking up on them.

I may be a little jaded about this, but no one has monkeyed with gensets. But then again, most of the time they are out are at matches where we are dressed in cowboy clothes wearing real sixguns. That may cause some thieves to pause...

ng2951, I stand corrected.....you were not wrong. I got out the booklet on my EF2400iS, and there it was at the bottom of page 9 covering the "Twin Tech" connections.

But......in looking at the control panel of the EF2400isHC, there are no "Twin Tech" connections. Wonder why in the world Yamaha would do away with that convenience, unless there was some type of problem running our older Yamis parallel.

If they are new, and have a warrenty, and have the parell cables..it sounds like a pretty good deal.

If used, well it is a crap shoot.................unless they have a hour meter, you don't know how many hrs have been run, if they changed the oil, etc...................

I have a EU3000is , mounted to my pin box, and it easly runs my AC, Flat screen TV, sat dish ( I really rough it )

The Honda is heavy, but Quiet.

Man I would love to see a picture of THAT!

My Yamaha 3000SeB runs my 15K AC and microwave just fine; just has to be in "normal" not "ECO" mode. The peak draw on start up can exceed the lower RPM of ECO's ability to serve up the amps fast enough and it will kick off the generator's inverter. In Normal, there are plenty of amps available.

I also would like to see the pinbox mounted generator, I think it would hit the back window on my truck. When running the parallel honda 2000's, do they both run the same RPM's or does one stay at idle while the other carries the load?

THe easyest way I can think of for you to see my set up, since I am at a computer with out my pics............go to

"R.V.Net".com ................look up posts for "bfast54", look at one of my posts, in my signature line, at the bottom you will see "MY BLOG" , click on it, and go through my blog photos.

Yes my Genny runs my AC quite well, plus many other items. I have a remote , which I can start, and stop my genny from anywhere within about 100 ft.

Sure nice first thing in the morning fire it up, remote while still in bed

I do a lot of forest service, DNR camping in Northern Mi, and the U.P., no power at many of those campgrounds.

The genny has lots of room, between it , and the back window of my truck.

I used scrap, recycled steel to make the pin box mount, about $20.00 in total for the pieces, including the Diamond plate cover.
