Does anyone have any idea what a new 2000W Honda sells for? I just checked several online sellers, and none of them can post the prices due to "manufacturer's regulations." Isn't Honda in the business of selling these things? For a forward company like Honda, to have a policy prohibiting the posting of prices online seems pretty backward. At least Yamaha allows their prices to be listed, maybe Honda is nervous or something...

Well, the long and short of it is ..............these wholesellers ARE NOT "Honda Dealers" by Hondas deffination of a "Dealer" on LINE .

You See.............Honda does not SELL-On -Line. Sure you can buy a honda -on -line .............but a"Honda" Dealer is Prohibited from posting their prices on line .

It is very confusing to the public, but the reality is Honda wants you to Come IN, and Touch- Feel their units, there by increasing a chance of a sale.

You can Call Mayberry, Weise sales, etc... and ask over the phone for the price.....................that is not posting the price on-Line.

To be perfectly honest.........I looked, compared for 2 years, going to rv shows, talking to owners when I saw one, etc............., and I got the best prices from the "On-line" stores, went to my local dealer in T.C., and they Matched the price, and with local service should I have had a issue.

A dealer will service a unit not bought from them, as time allows ............read " snowballs chance in Heck"..............course, you prob will never need the service, for a Honda, Yamaha..but i f you do ................

So, does that answer your Question of if honda wants to sell units ??????

And as a aside, I typed "Honda 2000 generator" into my browser, and two pics, with prices came up, one $ 999Gander Mtn.com , / one, Gander Mtn .com....listed $899.00 the expensive one is the new companion, the other is the older EU2000is.

So, that is a price range .

the Honda dealers that advertise in Trailer Life, sell the 2000 from $869 to $899.
and that's with free shipping.
the Companion or the Calif. version will cost more.

Cool, thanks for the replies everyone. What's the deal with the Companion model? It's still 2000W, so what makes it different? Just curious...

you don't need the parallel kit. you just connect it to a conventional 2000w unit to get the 4000w power.

Just bought a Yamaha EF2400ishc mostly for home backup during power failures. But it does fit in the Avalanche under the covers and its a manageable 75 lbs so it will camp at parks without electric. Its 10 degrees out so I dont know if it will run the AC yet but not a deal breaker if it didn't so if it does, great !!

The Companion has the 30 amp trailer socket built in. You do not need the external adapter kit (you just have to buy the cable)...

The way I understand it is the 30 amp outlet is a L5 30 amp locking plug so you still need the adapter to be able to plug in the camper 30 amp plug into it. Amazon has them for $30.31 though.
