My wife and I just bought our first camper in Oct. We had been looking for months starting last spring. Watched prices from new year models to closeouts. For us, waiting till fall or near the end of camping season was the best financial move. Seemed inventory was large for dealer both new and year end close outs. Also think that the large surplus of private owners putting their TT on the market instead of storage affects the asking price in the fall. We also found out that if you find a camper you like, jump on it as it may not be there when you go back. Of course this is my opinion, each situation different.

I bought mine in October. I scoured eBay, Trader and dealer web sites doing research on pricing and options. Finally a couple of weeks ago I found one on Craigslist just 30 miles away with the options and price we were looking for. Turns out the guy was going through a divorce and needed to get out from under. I got what I was looking for and helped a guy out at the same time.

We're about to close on a camper now. I was told by regional sales manager that they aren't raising their prices until Feb 1st. We've been shopping dealers for 2 months and were told two months ago that then was the best time to buy and prices were increasing the next week. The prices have done nothing but go down since. We got prices from "wholesalers" and presented those to our local dealers. Both have come in with lower prices. My two cents is do your homework and don't rush into anything.

The best time to buy is when you feel good about your purchase. That can be anytime of the year.

With the possibility of another global recession happening soon...(Greece and Italy defaulting ) ?? Prices of a lot of things world wide should fall..if you can play a waiting game for a year or so..
