Are you volunteering? You will need a metal turning lathe, drill press(s), horizontal band saw, vertical metal cutting band saw, bead blaster, hyd. arbor press, pneumatic pop rivet gun, files, air sander etc. I will forward my template for attaching bracket and the form die.

Mine is a 9", but a smaller one would work as long as it will hold 2" dia alum. shafts to make the outer pole slug/pad.

Just a short note from the Staff.
Old Coot has been making these in extremely limited runs and more as a service to the membership rather than a "business" opportunity.
For the price, he can't possibly be getting "minimum wage" for his labor, let alone any return on investment for his equipment. As such, after much discussion "in the back room," he has not been considered a "commercial vendor" by the rules of the forum.
Should someone take his designs and start a business making these awesome additions to electric awnings; we would of course require vendor status like anyone else involved in a "for profit" enterprise.

I figured that it was more of a hobby/courtesy. Just wondered if his many handy friends wanted to continue.

Having met Neil, I doubt anyone would want to invest the time and effort required to make a similar product (other than for himself) at double what he has been asking. Just my opinion of course and does not reflect the policy of the Forum.

Enjoy helping others enjoy their camping experiences in any way I can.
Also keeps me out of TOWTA's hair during the day.
Thanks, Herk.

Sure was nice of OC to share his effort.
I guess the power awning folks will be looking for other solutions soon.

When the support poles are secured in the travel or stowed position, does the power awning operate as if they were not installed? (or do they have to be dismounted to operate as if not installed?)

5 sets left ready to ship and 1 set available for custom length poles for a motorhome and then the shop is closed.

I just painted set #1. Hate those drying times. LOL
Going to completely install the first set, and see what I learn in the process.
I am changing out the upper mounting bolt to one with a shank to reduce the threads wearing on the pivoting mount.
