[SOLD] 44270 Surge Guard 50 Amp Surge Protector, never used

When we bought our RV the dealer gave us a $100 gift certificate for their store. We decided to buy a surge protector and use the $100 toward it.

There were two models there - a 30 amp model and a 50 amp model.

The 30amp was $98 and the 50amp was $140. I wasn't paying attention to the amp ratings for both of these and only looked and the "Joules" - the amount of surge protection. And bought the 50 amp model.

Only thing is our RV is a 30 amp RV! (Slaps Forehead!)

I paid no attention to this and took the protector out of the box and put it in the RV. Then threw the box away.

Imagine my surprise the first time I went to use it and found ti totally WRONG.

So, I'm selling this protector and then I plan to buy a new 30 amp model. You can buy it at $100 Shipped (shipping included) which will save you about $40 plus tax savings etc.

So, PM me if you're interested.

Thanks
Paul Green
PS. There are a few scuffs from it sitting in my RV's basement locker and sliding around down there. But it's never been plugged in.

I hope someone will take advantage of my error. I can't believe I was so stupid not to notice it was the 50 amp model.

Can this not be used with a 50 to 30 adapter?

It probably could, but a 50 to 30 adapter isn't really anything to use regularly. The 50 amp power is (240v) two legs of 120v. While 30-amp is 120v. I don't like to use the 50-amp adapter unless there is no other option.

Plus, I don't know if it works correctly with an adapter. I've never tried it.

I normally plugged into the 50 amp at a power pole vs the 30 with my last 2 30 amp trailers.

It'll work just fine as you'll only use one leg of the 50 amp service, no different if you used the 50 to 30 adapter on the power pedestal.

members here have been buying the proggresive industries 50 amp hardwired for their 30 amp trailer so if they ever upgrade to a 50 amp trailer they already have it.

I'd use it!

My husband got back to me, and he wants the adapter. Please let me know how I can buy it from you.

Thanks!
