If your installation went like mine, the bottom hole for the keeper pin when stored, may not be centered. If so, you should mark which side is "out" (or in) so that when you retract it after using it the pin goes in easy. I filed a notch in the front of the feet so I can see/feel which face of the lower pole faces out.
Of course as an early customer of the the DunnNC awning poles, mine were not so beautifully finished!
