I learned that Dometic also uses number 3310555.010 gas struts on some power awnings. Maybe that one is stronger? If more of you have the "331" strut then I should probably replace both of my "310s" with "331s".
Without the support poles, using the slot for (Heavy items, lights, sun screen, gutting a deer or moose, ect.) will pull the slotted arms down. I have the same struts & awning as you.If you really want to waste your time put ratchet straps on the ends of your awning and (Crank em down).Use support poles! Youroo!!

I have to believe it's because of the additional weight of the pole. Has anyone else had this problem?

I'm thinking it might be a defective strut because the rear arm strut seems to be holding up ok. But before I ask for a warranty replacement strut I thought it was best to check here first.

Appreciate any comments. Thanks.
I have a question, and then a comment.

Have you removed the poles and determined that the awning then works properly?

Perhaps the torsion assembly (spring) on the right head is not the correct number of turns.

I recently purchased a new Silveback 35qb4. It is equipped with the Dometic power awning. Are you planning on making/selling any more of the tie down kits?

I'm not, I think Turbs might be taking some to the Goshen rally in Aug.
