2011 Equinox as a toad

Thinking of setting up our 2011 AWD Equinox as a toad for our 2014 Solera. Weight of around 3800 lbs. for the Equinox. Will be close to the max towing weight. Wondering if anyone towing a dingy that heavy and how it is working for them. Will have a breaking system also and have a Roadmaster Sterling tow bar.
Thank You

You shouldn't have any problem, I've towed a Chevy Avoe and a Ford Fiesta both approximately 3600 lbs with a 500 lb tow dolly putting the weight over 4000 lbs and I had no problems with it at all. Your just towing the Equinox.

If you cannot flat tow it than the weight of the dolly is critical. You have only 400lbs left towards the limit.

At that weight you should use a dolly with good brakes.

I tow a 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited (4 door) weighs in just over 4000 lbs with no prob at all. Averaged just under 14 mpg on last 400 mile trip in FL while towing in the summer heat. You should be ok.

Just purchashed a Brake Buddy Vantage brake and will use that for brake. Also came across a 1997 Geo Tracker in very good condition and already set up as a dingy. Is a 2 door 4x4 with auto tranny. Is a one owner unit has had very good care. This weighs 1200 lbs. less than our Equinox so may go look at it and see how it drives. Loke the lighter weight and smaller size, know many folks happy with these as dingy rigs.
