24R sofa

We are considering upgrading from our 24M to a new 24R and are looking for information about the sofa option as opposed to the dinette. We would be interested in talking to anyone who has the sofa. Our dealer does not have one and says everyone wants the dinette so they do not intend to stock one. If you have one, please e-mail me at bcunning@gmavt.net so we can discuss it with you.

Is the sofa slide in or out in that picture?

If out, does the table have to be removed to move the slide in?

Where is the table stowed when not mounted on the floor?

I have a 2014 24R with the sofa option. I found the table that comes with it to be too large (maybe just too deep, where deep is the dimension nearer and further from the sofa), too high (I could probably cut the leg down a bit) and too heavy. So I stow it at home and take a small folding table from Camping World. (When the slideout is in, the folded table stows between the rear arm of the sofa and the rear wall of the living area.)

So far, the only problem with this approach is the rather large in-the-floor fixture that holds the standard table base. I'm considering taking it out, but I haven't quite convinced myself to do it yet.

Interesting your dealer told you they only are getting the dinette. Our dealer told us the opposite. I think it's in their vested interest to tell you what they have is all that their getting so you pull the trigger. Better to just order what you want. Just my .02 cents.

Our dealer had both options and we spent a lot of time deciding on the dinette version. We thought that the table was too heavy with the couch version and cumbersome to set up every time you needed it and had to be stowed every time you brought the slide in. We're happy with the dinette.

Funny how different parts of the country are just dinette available or just sofa. Our dealer here in Idaho only had dinette because he said that is what was wanted in our area. Actually it was just what the dealership chose to stock. Same day we were shopping he had another couple also wanting the sofa option.

What's the dimension of the sofa bed when it's pulled out? Full size? Thanks!

Note that the sofa is a "jack knife" variety - the back folds down and the bottom pulls out.

That said, when folded out, the dimensions are approximately 40" wide by 59" long, between the arms. There's a link to photos below...

But, while I was taking the photos, I discovered that the arms actually come off! Who knew??? Anyway, with the arms off, the length increases about 9" to 68".

Hope that helps.
