Leave the bedding on. It will move with the mattress when you retract the slide out.

We have had 2014 since Sept 2014 and find the split bed very comfortable. We use queen fitted sheet on it. Then flat sheet and blanket as necessary (we do not carry bedspread that came with the unit). When we slide the bed in, believe it or not, the mattress stacks within fitted sheet with minor adjustment necessary. Conversely, when we slide bed out, fitted sheet and other bedding goes back into place. We were surprised the way it worked with little problems.

hope this helps. Good luck.

Split Bed

We'll be picking up our Solera Tues. and let you know about the bed. That was a concern for me as was the mattress comfortable. Happy to hear the positive remarks on that.

The split mattress works like a charm; folds neatly and the bedding remains in place. We love ours. And, as others have said, we find it very comfortable with a foam pad added on top.

I was skeptical at first, but was won over quickly.

My wife and I just got one last summer and we are very happy with it. The bed halves stay together, and you don't feel the split because of where it is.

We now can attest that review were correct. The mattress is comfortable I leave Queen bedding on and just pull back thick blankets I don't use any bedspread.

What is the name of the "near Portland" dealer that rents Solara's. I'm very interested in trying one before I make the plunge.
