AC fuse blowing

Ok. Went getting ready for our trip to Yellowstone. I noticed that the 15 amp 12 volt fuse was burnt. So I replaced it and ran AC unit for several hours with no problems. Well in the 2nd night into trip. The fuse burnt in the middle of night. I tried to replace it only for it to blow as I plugged it in. As I was trying to figure out wiring. I saw that there is 3 sets of wires coming in to the AC unit that are all have a brown wire for the hot wire. I just happen to also notice that the bathroom fan will not come on. So I took trim off and sure enough. The power from fuse goes to that fan and then to AC unit. So I unhooked fan and tried another fuse and it still blew. So at AC they have 3 wires. So one is the wire coming from bath fan. These 3 wires are tied to a small wire feeding the 12 volts to AC. So I have 2 wired going back into ceiling. I cut one and put my last fuse in with no problems. AC ran the rest of the night. So my problem now is what does the other wire feed. I have check every thing I could think of and it all works. The fuse panel only says the fuse is for the roof. LOL. Anyone with any ideas? Sorry post is so long. Typing this on iPhone.

maybe it goes to a light fixture or another fan

I bet you dont have a toner with you where you could tone the wire and see if you can find it anywhere in the motorhome.

Hopefully some one that know the wire you are talking about chimes in

I tried every light and also everything I could think of that was 12 volts. All work. Was wondering if maybe. The wires go to other roof vents to be able to add power vents.

now that is a possability cause I was told they do pre wire it for another fan.

maybe worth to pull the existing vent to see if the wire is touching anything

Ok. Good news is if I ever decide to add power vents. It is wired. They are on the same circuit as the 12 volts AC. But bad news is the wires also keep going to some where else. Guess I'll have to give someone at Forest River a call and ask for a wiring diagram. Anyone know who to contact?

The TV antenna has a 12v power booster. Just a thought.

If you give me your email and VIN# in a pm I can send you a pdf of the roof wiring diagram for your vehicle. The tan wires you see at the ac are for the ac 12V and also all of the vent holes in the ceiling. As previously thought, we do pre-wire all of the holes for the possibility of adding powered vents afterwards.

Ok. I bought a perry toner. I can hook it to a power corded layed out across the drive way and it tones a foot away from it. But when I hook it to the wire the short is on. It only tones a few inches away from toner. Any ideas? Also I got a wiring diagram of camper. Any one know what EC lights would be.

Looking at wiring diagram that was sent to me. It looks like I should have a hot wire coming fron back vent to the AC compartment to feed power to the AC control. Then one wire leaving there to go to front vent. But I have 2 wires leaving the AC compartment. One goes to the front vent. Have not problem with this wire. Its the other wire the blows fuse if I hook it up.
