Adding aftermarket TV audio out to Jensen VM9626BT

I added a Samsung 32" LED Smart TV in place of the factory 12 volt Jensen. The factory ran audio and video out to the TV but no audio back to the head unit. Has anyone ran Audio out from the TV to the head unit? The TV has a optical out which can be converted to RCA audio if necessary. Thanks.

My 2015 Forester 2501 has the TV audio out connected to the Jensen head unit, it was factory wired that way. The TV audio out is connected to the AUX2 input (RCA) on the Jensen. The volumn is controlled by both the TV and Jensen.

Are you sure about that? With the surround sound option I believe we run audio out from the TV to the head unit. Might be on all units, but for sure those with surround sound.

We do not use the optical out however. There is another audio out.

In this video I show it in action.

Thanks Bclemens! I found the audio RCA cables wrapped up and zip tied to the TV bracket. It looks like when I had the TV installed the installer put the cables in the bracket channel. Now I just need to get a optical to RCA adapter.

That video is already dated. We're now using Jensen. I will probably do another just to save confusion. I am also going to do a printed version to send to all our dealerships.
