air conditioner

I was upstate NY last weekend, was 50's at night. Turned on heat to 75 which flowed out of floor vents but the air conditioner came on too blowing cool air. Normal??? Any suggestions?

Turn fan switch on thermostat to 'Auto".

x2. Push On-off switch to "Fan". Use + or - key to get to AU (for Auto). Then push On-off to select furnace and furnace fan will run as needed but not air conditioning fan.

Works in a similar way on air conditioning. In auto mode, fan with start with air conditioning and select low or high as needed, then shut off when set temperature is achieved. In Low or High setting, fan will come on when "cool" is selected and will run continuously. Air conditioning compressor will cycle as needed to provide cooling.
