Arizona Highway 260

After the Tucson Saguaros in Springtime Rally in March we plan to travel back roads in our 24R up to Camp Verde, which will include Arizona Highway 260 from Payson to Camp Verde.

Google Map shows it to be wonderfully crooked. Should we have any concerns (We will be towing our CRV).

We full-timed in a 40' DP with a tow car for several years; I learned to ask questions first!

I have not been on that road but I did look at a couple of places that I thought might be a problem on Google Maps.

Just west of Strawberry , AZ. there is a tight hairpin but it did not look like a problem.

I did see a large dump truck pulling a trailer with a drill rig on it so I would think it is ok for you and the MH.

There is a couple of tight turns outside of Strawberry/Pine...I am sure you will be fine.

Road is crooked to say the least. But drivable in a 25' class C with no problems.

We traveled that road about a month ago in our 25' Solera with no issues. As others have said, it is quite curvy and the decline in elevation is dramatic, but the scenery is beautiful. That said, the locals said to stay off it if there is snow or ice.
