Aux propane tank kit.

I am looking for recommendations on a kit to enable me to connect an extra propane tank to the Solera.

Any advice appreciated.

I've not installed or used one. No idea how hard to install or how well it works.

Works great

Installed it myself in less than 2 hours. Had to go get a couple of short nipples.

Thanks for the picture. As a newbie wanting to add a tank to my newly acquired Solera, can you tell me what you mean by nipples?

Thanks

Steve

Nipples are short pieces of pipe usually threaded on both ends. Get them at any hardware store.

Thank you! Much appreciated. I think the Solera 24R is a fantastic unit, I just want to be able to hook an external LPG tank into the system to conserve the (rather small) inboard tank.

I am a genuine novice- previous experience tent camping and pop up trailer in Australia, and moving up to a sophisticated motor home like the Solera is a daunting , but exciting task.

All hints and helps like yours makes my learning curve much more pleasant.

Steve

Went to camping world and bought kit they sell for $89. And they install it for $39. They had it done in less than a hour. It has a connection for a spare propane tank and one you can run to a grill. The. Kit is called stay a while or extend a stay deluxe. It works great.

Easy Squeezy

I was able to put the extenda kit into the Solera in about 15 minutes- no dramas nor hassles, something was very easy for once - a crescent wrench and a bit of teflon tape for insurance. A cinch, even for a beginner like me, no extra bits needed.

Works like a charm- heartily recommend doing this- will cut down on LPG hassles with the onboard tank tremendously.

I have just installed the extenda with an auxiliary tank. Trouble is, the auxiliary will run a couple of burners on the stove only, but will not run the generator - insufficient pressure/flow from the auxiliary via the extenda. Have you been able to run a high flow on board system using this?
