Question Awning Issues

We have a 2012 Solera. Our Dometic awning just stopped working. There is no fuse or braker marked for the awning. No idea where to start looking for the answer. Any thoughts?

Have to check to see if you are getting power at switch?

My 5th wheel awning fuse is located on a "pigtail" BEHIND the power center. To change it I would need to remove the power center from the wall under the fridge and slide it out far enough to get to the fuse cap.

Now why would they put a fuse in such a hard-to-access spot?
How on earth did you find it Lou?

Better still, how come you haven't moved it to a better location, like in the basement where it comes out of the wall?

Did not bring a tester with me. Only have 3 at home. It's a new unit. Why would I have problems?

It is a big job.
There are 3 pigtails back there and I don't know what the other two do yet. Once they ran out of circuits on the panel they tapped off the battery posts on the converter. That was what tipped me off to something back there.

I don't leave the driveway without my tool kit.

Why not just bypass the fuse and forget the other two and re-locate the fuse or do the other two have fuses also?

They will get replaced with autoreset limiters if they ever blow.
No need to do anything yet.

This is not helping the OP.

This is a possibility but it may be a catch-22:
The connector to the awning motor may be loose! but to get at it the awning must be extended somewhat...

and this from the installation manual:

http://www.dometic.com/enus/Americas...ation-Manuals/

Note: An inline 15 amp fuse (installer supplied) should
be installed between the rocker switch and the 12 VDC
power source on the positive (red) wire.
