Back-up Camera Audio

Our 2014 Solera has a back up camera and their is a volume control on the rear view monitor. Our sales person said that it would be able to pick up the voice of the person behind the RV when backing into a camping spot. However, I can't seem hear any audio from inside the cab. Could someone let me know if the mointor will pick up sound from the camera unit or whether our sales person was mistaken. Thanks, Bob

Ours has volume control as well, but in reality, it doesn't have audio.

Mine has sound, with volume turned up you can hear if someone is talking. So sales person was correct.

Does the sound come through the monitor or through the Magnadine speakers and if so, what settings are required? Thanks

Bob, comes through the monitor. I'm new to all this but I turned up the volume and could hear the girls around the camp fire.

For a while the camera's audio was not turning down enough and we got complaints...so they disconnected the "Blue" wire that controls that function.

Pull the panel below the steering wheel. Up in there is a silver box that controls the camera. There should be a blue wire, hooked to a blue wire. That is the "reverse" power.

My 2011 has a little remote control for the rearview camera/mirror. It doesn't do anything (that I can tell) except turn AV1 off/on, turn the camera off/on and adjusts color, tint, color and brightness....
Anybody else got a remote control?

There is a loose blue wire under the drivers seat where a bank of fuses are located. I bet this is the wire that controls the audio but I didn't see another loose blue wire to connect it to before I ran out of light. I'll try again tomorrow.

OK, I was able to do some more checking after a short trip and this is what I found. The rear camera control box is to the left of the steering wheel and the front dashboard panel can be removed by a single star headed screw at the bottom. I found the blue wire and it was connected to a black wire. The black wire looked to be connected to the back of the Magnadine. I tried to remove the Madnadine by inserting the removal tools but was unable to get the unit to budge. I assume that I'm not using them correctly but I inserted them until they clicked and tried to pull them to the outside while pulling out and the tools kept popping out without the radio moving. Anyway, I did try turning on the radio and switching to AV1 and AV2 to see if I could hear audio on either of those inputs and still did not hear anything. Any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks, Bob
