Its a valve whose opening and closing is controlled by a cable. As opposed to a valve controlled by direct connection...normally a small metal shaft.

I asked for a gated community....but admin has been less than responsive to my hoighty toighty requests.

The cables are too long for the application. Consequently, they must route them with bends. This makes it difficult to operate the valves. I have rerouted and shortened my cables so that they have almost no bends in them. The valves now operate much more easily.
