Dinghy battery charging

One more battery question. Anyone have a setup to charge their tow behind from the Solera

Why would you need to do that? If it is for brake/tail lights I use magnetic lights that connect to the hitch 7 pin. Just a thought.

Charging toad

I have the same thing and a Patriot braking system. I am going on over a 4000 mile trip with over nights in between. Some of the stretches may go 7-800 miles with out unhooking. Just worried about the car battery going down. Found a 7' 7 pin to 6 pin coil cable and a toad charge module for the car for less then $100

That sounds good. One word of caution would be to ensure that the charging system can't feed back to the rv. Might damage LEDs. May not be a problem, just a thought.

Setup prevents feed back and only provides current when the battery needs it.

The cable is a Roadmaster 146-7 and the module is a Toad Charge. Both are available at Amazon.

RVibrake Towed Battery Charger

Check out this one. It looks to have better protection.

Wow, I just checked my trip and realized I under estimated it. It is 6851 Miles.
