Child safety Net for Upper Bunk?

Hi:

I'm getting close to pulling the trigger on a new 24R. I'm sure my grandsons (2 and 5) would love the cabover bunk, but I'm concerned about them rolling out of bed.

Has anyone BTDT with some kind of safety barrier/net to prevent that? I'm kinda thinking of something like a webbing pickup tailgate replacement.

TIA,

Greg

This is now available for new orders.

Could probably be retrofitted using some sort of drywall anchor.

Brian, I knew this was available in the Coachman but did not pursue it since there was no option listed for the Forester at the time we ordered. Our 3011 is due off line end of this month. Is it too late to get it added and if not do I need to contact Tri-Am in Ocala. Fl. and go thru them?

Thanks

We started adding the backer in on all units about a month ago. So in if its too late you should be able to get it through parts.

But yes, if not off until the end of the month, call your dealer. Option code 2534 $133

Swimming noodle

I've read here somewhere that a foam swimming noodle placed lengthwise under the mattress pad helps prevent kids from rolling out. I haven't tried it yet but bought one yesterday to use this summer.

Thanks Brian, I contacted our dealer first thing this morning so hopefully they got with the Florida rep to get it added to the order.

We used a regular bed side screen that you can get in any stores childrens/baby dept. They have legs that slide under the mattress to keep it in place and a mesh screen that sticks up above the mattress. Our daughter slept on the top bunk for the last 12 years until we got rid of the trailer last fall. Never rolled out once.
They are fairly cheap.

Contact a local Forest River dealer.

As mentioned however, there is no backer there, so results may vary based on what fastener you use.
