delay in converter startup

When I first plug in to shore power it takes anywhere from 1 to 3 minutes before the converter takes over and starts charging the batteries. (~13.7 volts)

the ac is up to full voltage as the microwave and tv (power light) come on right away. Its just the output of the converter that is delayed.

Does this sound normal or the beginning of a converter problem?

What model converter do you have?

Are you checking voltage at the battery?

So if you plug in to shore power and walk up to battery it reads what?

12.2 to 12.6.. Stays at that same value for the stated delay period.

Model not available right now

Mine is delayed too
I even installed a fancy surge/voltage protector and the Green lights take a couple of minutes to stop flashing red so must be normal
