2001 Honda Civic automatic with a Tow Ready tow bar.

We bought our daughter a new car so we inherited this one. After spending a lot of time and money fixing everything that was wrong with it, it makes a very nice TOAD.

It won't do MACH 2, but I can get a sandwich and take a pee.

We tow a 2013 Honda Fit and that works well, but on our last 3000 mile trip there were a lot of dirt back roads to interesting spots. So if I had to do it over again I might think about a small Jeep to gain access to those roads.

My Solera is very near the maximum cargo load. I looked at the weight I had left for towing. The only Jeep that worked was the 2 door Wrangler. The four door Wrangler and the other Jeep models were too heavy.

I think I might look at the new Honda HR-V. Looks to be a bit bigger than the Fit... But... It's new, so you'd probably have to wait for someone to come up with a base plate.

The CVT version can't be towed, but the manual transmission model is motorhome towable, according to the owners' manual.

We tow a 2 door jeep rubicon . it tows nicely! I've always just used the magnetic taillights plugged into the 4 prong. I saw a set of wireless taillights (magnetic) that the controller just plugs into the 4 prong! I think that is my next purchase!!!The jeep goes a few places the Mini's and Fit's can't quite get to.

I just plug the front of my Wrangler into the back of the Solera and the lights work on the Wrangler.

Mine too, just plug it in. Brakes connected through same plug.
Jeeps are made to be towed and a great vehicle to have along on a camping trip.

We've been looking for a used 2012-2014 wrangler to tow with our Solera. The prices for the late model used ones are pretty close to a new one. (Good if you already own one!) Ideally, if we could find one that has a tow bar already set up. or is it better to find something that hasn't really been towed around a lot? Did you buy new? Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks,
Brian
