Just wondering. Were you actually able the tell the awning motor was still activated by a motor noise when the switch was in an off position, or was it something you couldn't tell until the failure occured. I did see the picture you posted showing the rounded surface, was it difficult to remove. Just wondering in case myself or other DIY'ers need to take this one on.

Not sure which person you are referring to. I started the thread but I did not post any pictures. There was no motor noise or clicking when switch was in the off (center) position. Only time I hear motor noise is when I take pressure off the awning by hand while someone presses the switch. I will take it in for warranty repair and hopefully Dometic's new motor will do the trick.
