Dometic Refrigerator elec/propane failure

Just wondering how frequent a failure occurs on Dometic dual fuel refrigerators. Mine was in a 2012 Solera and was just replaced under warranty, due to corrosion in the propane burner tube, causing perforation and subsequently amonia leakage.

I must say ,I couldn't have had better customer service in getting it fixed under warranty. I made pripr visits to three RV dealers, who are authorized to handle Dometic waranty. The one made me feel completely comfortable from the minute I walked in the door. Just a note, I didn't bother with were I purchased it originally, since I knew they send that level of work out anyway. Has anyone seen failure in their Dometic brand refrigerator within the first two years.

Never in my 30 years trailering and all had Dometic Refrigerators.
Do you live around the ocean? Salt air can rust anything.

I heard there were recalls on some refrigerators due to issues involving corrosion which caused a fire hazard seemed like those where earlier models thou.

Mine is brand new, purchased it two weeks ago. The family went on the maiden voyage this weekend and had to throw away $60 worth of food because the thing won't get cold. I checked to see if it was getting gas and I could see a flame. I can go without hot water or no furnace, but I can't do away with cold beer. Tried it on electric and same thing.

How long did you let fridge cool down before putting food and warm items in it?

Cut it on 48 hours prior to camping so refrigerator can get cold before adding food. Pre cool food before placing it in the refrigerator will help. I added a fan to help circulation of the air in the refrigerator, helps a lot. http://m.ebay.com/itm/251519657793
