No smell of ammonia anywhere. I checked the fuses and all 3 are good. (One inline and two under the black cover. Sparker clicks. I don't see a flame but the burner vent is hot to the toucn. The drain hose was not bent in a p_trap shape allowing hot air to enter the reefer. I bent it correctly but the hose is brittle. Wrapped it with tape but it needs replacement. Maybe it has a break behind the refrigerator. Stlll appear to have two problems. First is insufficient cooling. Second I'm not sure if it's working on propane with insufficient cooling or not working at all on propane.

Thanks in advance
Tom

curiouser and curiouser. so the freezer is frozen solid. the refrigerator is barely cool. Is there a connection between the two that's blocked?

Freezer frozen solid, fridge warm? Sounds to me like you're not getting a good seal on the Fridge part, allowing the cool to escape. This would cause the fridge to constantly run, as the thermistor is not getting cold enough to shut down the cooling. Which in turn causes the freezer to freeze solid because it is sealing, and the temps in there keep dropping from the fridge constantly running.

interesting... i don't think the seal leaks. shouldn't the fins be cold and covered with condensation if that were true? the fins are barely cool. i don't get it...

Oh, right, you mentioned that part.... Ok, thinking cap back on, then I'd say the cool is not making it from the coils to the fins. (if that makes any sense).

In actually, a fridge works by subtracting heat, and dispersing it away so I guess it's probably better to say the heat's not making it from the fins to the coils?

Frig not working

There is a frig temp adjustment on the top right of the frig which slides up and down on one of the heat exchanger fins. Maybe it fell off or got moved by accident to a higher setting. Don't know but just a thought..........
