Took some pictures. The switch, the magnetic switch where I tapped into its wires, and one of the screws that hold the trim strip on (with its cap removed). Believe I was able to stuff the wire I added under the black foam piece that is below the trim strip coming off the magnetic switch.

Just use a magnet positioned close to the switch that is mounted on the door jamb.

Store it nearby when not in use.
