Drink rest for couch in slide out

Does anyone have a sweet solution for the problem with where to put your drink, or coffee cup when you're sitting on the couch? I know there is a ledge behind the couch but its a pain to turn around every time i want a sip. And we don't often put the table up. We do have a little folding table but its stored underneath the rig. I was thinking of some contraption that would fit between the bolster and the couch proper that would stick out and up 4" to rest a cup on. Any ideas?

I don't know if it'll help, but I have one of these for beside my couch in my fifth wheel. I'll be ordering a couple more soon for various other places.

Came from Amazon- just a couple of bucks.

They make stainless steel ones just like that too that are a little bit sturdier.

You can buy or build one of these yourself:

I'm looking for ideas of the same. I like that homemade idea. If made a tad wider, it could hold a plate too. Although, you'd have to remove it to use the armrest.

This is my solution which works well for me. Threaded pipe connected to the floor and to the underside of the arm table. I have one on each side of the couch.

They do make exactly what you're talking about. I got one for my car. It's designed to go between the console and the side of a car seat. Basically an upside down L shape. It's made of black plastic, holds 2 cups and the part that sticks down is about 3 or 4 inches deep. I got mine at Advance Auto Parts. Don't know if that will work for you aesthetically. Good luck!

A flip down cup holder mounted on the walls on both sides of the couch. Available online or at an auto parts store.

I was just thinking about making a couple of these for my couch. Similar to skyliner's pic.
Glad to make three if you want one. Shipping and materials would be yours. What part of the continent do you live in.

Backdoctor, here are some pics of what I got from Advance Auto for my car. It works great and is deep enough that it never tips over and allows for the handles of a coffee cup and is deep enough for a 32 ounce large drink.

Hope that helps!
