Entry step jammed
Just opened the door to enter the MH and step made the typical activation noise, but failed to deploy. Step currently is not operating. Has anybody expierenced this on their Solera before, and if so what did it turn out to be.

Need additional help on this jammed step. The step was jammed, gave it a good kick ,and now its functioning again. The step seems to struggle a bit as it approaches the full open position. Could Solera owners take a look and see if their steps just open without sthat laboring as it approaches full open. The easiest way to check is look over the top of the step, in the closed position, and watch the Igear plate assembly (toothed half moon piece)' pivots, as it travels to full open. On mine ,the last part of the travel acts as if the motor is working harder to complete the step movement. I'm wondering if the double ball joint assembly needs a length adjustment, because it labors a bit at the end of the open position. Thanks

On mine the central bolt holding that large gear in place sheared off. Try lubricating that bolt and see if that helps. Didn't see mine hesitating before the failure but it might have.
See another thread for my adventures in replacing the bolt.

Henry, so does mine now to. What I was trying to determine by my question posted yesterday, was does my linkage need adjustment and was hoping someone would take a look at theirs to observe the travel of the step.

Sorry I probably put it the wrong way, I watched my step there is no labor on the linkage. Operated smoothly opening and closing

Your motor may have plastic gears and a piece "MAY have broken off and jam inside, the kick may have loosened it.

As you watch it, its common for the double joint bolt to slip in the gear when the step reaches full open or close. It will shudder and grind. This is not normal, the bolt will eventually shear and fail due to this looseness. Happened to me!

Thanks for the input. Mine doesn't quite shudder, rather it works a bit harder at the end of the total step movement, before it limits and stops. I was looking at it today, and will shorten up the linkage a bit, to see if it smoothes out the total step extension sequence.
