Fan-tastic fan installation on 2400W

I am wanting to replace the regular crank open vent in the bedroom with a powered fan like the one we have in the living room area. Does the vent in the bedroom come pre-wired that is hidden in the ceiling or will I have to run wire?

If you have a light near by you might be able to wire into it. Later RJD

It is normally not prewired.
I put one in my bedroom and tapped off the light 8" away

Just pull off the interior trim piece (usually held on by 4 screws) and check the area around the opening. You may find two wires tucked up under the opening, red n black or red n white or black n white. Those would be your hot/ground wires, and then a simple hook up. A lot of openings are pre wired for an optional fan or ac.
If no wires, you may be able to find wiring from a celing light that is close that you can tap into.

You will need enough wire to bridge the gap between the light and where the fan power leads are.

If you can keep to the color code.

You will need two of these which you may get at any auto parts store near you.

It is pre-wired. I recently had the vent inside trim off to replace the vent cover. Wires are there on a 2014 Solera.

Anywhere there is a vent you can put a Fantastic fan. We prewire all vents to be ready for a fan set up.

Also check Amazon, you can upgrade the Fantastic fans to automatic for about $160, and its a whole lot easier than pulling the old one and replacing.

On my '14 24R I replaced the rear cheapie fan with digital control, wiring was there.

Then converted the front to automatic. It took 1/3 the time.

One thing to watch for if you find the opening is prewired. If you have a 50A RV, there is the possibility it's prewired to install a second AC. If so, make sure you're getting a 12V wire and not a 110V wire. Our old RV had a secondary thermostat in the bedroom but was 30A and only came with one AC. It was set up so you could install a second AC so long as you put in the control box to run only one unit at a time. When I removed the trim, both sets of wires were there. They were clearly marked on mine, just saying be careful. I don't think that vent fan would appreciate the jolt from 110V!

Well I guess the folks that installed mine where not to bright. Knowing when they took out the vent there where wires there also for a light switch also. Guess which wires they hooked to. Yep light switch Later RJD

There are definitely some geniuses out there running around. A few years ago we went to a CiCi's pizza for lunch and they just couldn't seem to get any pizza out on the buffet. When I complained, the girl says "The guy who makes the dough rise is out sick today." Guess she's never heard of that little thing called yeast!
