Ford Transit Cutaway Press Release

Ford recently released the media pack for the Transit Chassis Cab and Cutaway models. Attached is the media PDF. The 3.7L V-6 standard gas engine and 6 speed transmission moves the big F-150 fairly quick, much quicker than my 5.4L F-150. With the 3.5L EcoBoost and 3.2L Turbo Diesel as more powerful options, Ford appears to have leapfrogged the M-B Sprinter. However, I’m a little concerned about the 10,360 GVWR. The Sprinter-based Solera has an 11,030 GVWR and the cargo capacity is somewhat limited.

Here's a link to the PDF at Ford:

Yes, I don't see us using it until they expand their GVWR a bit more.

The wife & I have been putting off our RV purchase, waiting to see what is going to be built on the Transits.

Is this still the latest thinking here at F.R. ??

Ford says the E450 will run through the decade. Who knows when the transit will make it into a GVWR that will work with any "non B" floor plans.
