Fresh water pump

Returned from a month long trip where I had been using the water pump occasionally. When I tried it a home it would run but not pump (again). I checked the inlet and there was water flowing to the pump. Did the old air trick again and it started working again. I am beginning to think it might be a check valve issue. Strange!

No screen in the inlet hose or absence of an inboard water filter could be the root cause of the debris getting in the check valve of the pump.

All of the screens and filters are in place. This is the second time this has happened.

The anti-freeze siphon valve caused me serious issue. They are a known air leak situation. Removed it and solved my problem.

Used compressed air to blow from the inlet side. That cleaned out or unstuck what was causing the problem.

Internal pump problem, caused by faulty check valve in pump,or High City water pressure on the Output side of F/W Pump causing the Pump check valve to dislodge from its seat! Is your inlet Water Pressure (Always Controlled) at PSI levels as stated by the Pump Mfg.? Youroo!!

Actually the pump manufacturer does not even mention "High City water Pressure in there manuals. I could see high city water pressure causing a check valve to stick closed, but I could also see the 55 PSI that the pump can put out forcing it back open with zero pressure on the outlet side of the check valve.
