Gas Indicator light on Dometic refrigerator

Previously when traveling the gas indicator light on my Dometic refrigerator would light when running off propane. It would then automatically switch over to AUTO once connected to shore power. There is now no indicator light when running off propane (and yes the tank is open!) Does anyone know why this has happened?? I should mention that the CHECK light would normally come on if there is a problem, but this is not happening. We've been camping fairly close to home so the refrig/freezer stays cold, but I'm concerned for longer trips.
Please help!!

I leave mine set to "auto" and the amber light stays on whether on AC or propane.

I do not do that because if I flip the inverter on or fire up the gen for a few minutes it flips from gas to 110 the back. If I stay on inverter, it pull too much on inverter and pulls batts down.

Keep it off AUTO and if gas is running you get no lite. If gas fails the light comes on.

Are we talking about a frig. in a Solera? I think we are and they run on propane plus DC or 110 and not on an inverter. Mine will run for a very long time on just the batteries and propane. I will leave it set to auto.

He's talking a TT and we, including the OP, are talking Solera. Some things need to stay Solera/MBS specific in this Solera sub-forum.

Fridge

Can anybody tell why the new double door fridges/freezer don't indicate anymore what the inside temperature of the fridge is?
On my last 5er, the fridge ( two door, just like the new one) would indicate the inside temperature of the fridge compartment.
