Gas strut at door

I left the door open while it was a bit windy, result the eyelet ( ball socket) of the gas spring supporting the door broke off. Took me a long time to find a spare part, everybody wanted to convince me I need to buy a whole new strut for around 50$.....
If anybody else has that problem, here is the part (3.50 incl. shipping)

2 New Lift Support End Fittings 10mm Ball Socket M6x1 6mm Threaded Ends | eBay

Door Gas Strut breaking

Opened the door and wind caught it and broke the ball off the pivot. Guess I'd better get some spares.
Thanks for posting replacement parts as I see this happening again.
