We are taking a cross country trip on June, so I'd rather just pay for DVD radio that will be reliable. Thanks for any info.
I just revived an old thread that will tell you all you want to know, I think. See replacing Magnadyne. Magnadyne would probably replace yours without a hassle, if you want to go that route. But, if you like music, or a good GPS, then, I'd go with the Kenwood.

Thanks for the info. Dealer says magnadyne repairs take 6-8 weeks. I don't have time to wait for that. I'm going to buy the kenwood from Crutchfield and pay an installer to do it. Thanks!

There is a "process" to update it within your system. Mr. John Miller of Forest River sent me the directions.

From the home page of the main screen hit the little arrow in bottom right corner to go to 2nd page. press the setup button. on the half moon configuration on the left touch the GPS button. This should bring up a box on the right side of the screen. The 2 folders that appear should say "IGO" and "BACKUP." Touch the IGO folder. Scroll down in this box until you see the iGO.EXE file. press that file and then hit ok. Basically you are reprogramming the unit to enter the .EXE file when you press GPS. Like I mentioned, I am thinking that when it was updated from the factory, that this path was lost somehow. I will be here for another hour (4pm EST). If after that, pm me on forum and I will do my best to check there if I don't hear back from you before I leave today.

Thanks for the info, I may give this a try tomorrow, but then again the SD cards from Magnadyne should be here by then also. Hopefully one of the processes will correct the problem.

Call Magnadyne. I got a replacement radio last year in four days. Provided free shipping to return defective one. Took a credit card number to make sure I would return old one, but no charge. Also did the firmware update and it fixed the crashing problem on the GPS.

Well got the SD cards and tried to install them, the screen went blank to start with and I couldn't get it back on. Went out today and tried again after tapping on the screen it came up and the SD card update completed? Was told by the tech at Magnadyne that he didn't like the sound of having to tap on the screen. I was told to keep an eye on it and let him know what happens. I think I'll take it for a spin this week end and see what does happen.
