Best news is that cord is full size and will carry 15 amps without an annoying maybe dangerous voltage drop. Have fun!

I'm getting a bit concerned about those Tigers ... South Carolina is not going to be a push over next Saturday. At least the Saints have one win under their belt!

Watch what you run in the camper with that cable though.

Most likely no air conditioner. Pulling 14 or 15 amps (air alone!) through 50 feet of 15 amp rated cord will cause a pretty hefty voltage drop and even if the compressor turns over it could cause problems with the low voltage. I know it is 10 gauge so you did good. Just be careful.

Maybe no microwave. Again heavy amp draws.

IMO, stick to the converter items (lights and such) and the TV.

Thanks for the warning!
I am only planning on using the lights, refrigerator and maybe the radio. Again, I just didn't want to run down the house batteries and didn't want to use up the LP Gas running the generator while I was just fooling around in there!

Fridge is ok too! I forgot to add that.
Nice that the cord is 10 gauge. Sweet.

This is what i use. A standard 3-prong (male) house plug on one end and 30 amp heavy duty 3-socket (female) connector that matches your coach power cable. I can run everything on a 20-amp house circuit.

sorry the pic is a little dark.

James, they call that kind a dogbone adapter, because when you lay it out flat it looks kinda like a dogbone.

It sounds funny, but it's true.

Debbie, we had my brother in law,(an electrician) install a 30 amp outlet in our garage so we can plug it in directly. It has an on/off switch and I turn it off before plugging and un-plugging. I like to do things out in the rv too, and it's nice to be able to run the air if needed.
Glad your cord worked out ok, this is just something for you to think about. Enjoy your 'nesting'!

Remember everyone that "electrician's," friends or otherwise, may NOT know your camper is 110 volts (NOT 220 volts) and has a specific wiring requirement) See Attachment

They will look at your plug and think, "dryer" and wire it 220. Your camper IS NOT a dryer. 220 can do very bad things to your camper.

herk7769 - Thanks for this information. I have printed out your pdf file and will keep it with the RV in case we do decide to install a 30 amp outlet.

I have found that "That which goes without saying; should have been said."
It has not failed me yet. If you already knew that, then file under "ignore".
