house battery

OK, maybe I am getting old but we thought the house battery on our 24S was under the entry step, but it a no find there for us.
Can someone please tell me where the house battery is? We know the chassis battery is under the driver seat.

Thanks
Dave

I looked at the owner's manual on the Forest River web site for the 2015 'The batteries on them are located in a separate compartment on the exterior of the coach. I'd start looking in each compartment and check for compartments under the floor of each one? Hope that helps. good luck

I took the rubber off the step but could not find a way to lift the step. I really think it's under there but don't see any access.

Seems like I remember a post last year sometime showing a pic of two Solera next to each other. One had two compartments on the drivers side rear. I asked what the compartment was behind the wheel well was as I knew the one in the rear was the utility compartment for sewer and the like. I was told it was the battery compartment. Do you have any thing like that?

No. Will just have to trace it down. Was just wishing someone had the same unit and could save me some research.
Not a problem just trying to take the lazy way out.
Thanks for your effort.

You should be able to narrow it down by looking for large battery cables under the coach. There has to be one from the chassis battery back to the battery control center. There will also be one from the coach battery to the BCC but that could be routed inside. If you find the BCC you should be able to find the battery.

On our 2012 "S" there are two thumb screws - one at each end of the top step. Have to completely unscrew both, then lift the entire step tread - metal and rubber - to access batteries. Easier than it sounds...

GroupleaderPJ, I have a 2014 Solera 24S and the batteries are under the top step. Just remove the screws and lift up the cover.

OK, thanks all. Under the step is where I thought it was, and it is. The rubber on our step was loose and someone just put clue on the underside of the rubber, so when I undid the screws to lift up the rubber came up but not the "cover".
We will take back and find out why we can't get to the battery when we return from our trip. Still under warranty so should not be a hassle.
Thanks for all the input.

They do use a bad glue for those steps. I took the rubber step off of the metal and after cleaning it up use a vehicle adhesive glue to put it back together. Has worked so far.
