In search for permanent power on trailer connection.

Hello gang,

My Solera is a 2011 S24SS on a 2010 Freightliner chassis.

On the trailer 7 points connector, I use to have a permanent source of 12 volts provided by a big black wire. Big compare to the other wires.

I use this power source for my Brake Buddy so I don't drain my tow vehicle battery on 3-4 days trip (canada-Florida or Canada-Texas)
Now, the wire is dead, no more power !

Does anyone know the source of this black wire ? I think (not sure) I track it all the way to under the driver seat but lost it again.

Any idea of a fuse location ? A relay ? A voodoo spell ? Anyone with an electric chart ?

Pierre

I looked and you can find several places with Freightliner wiring diagrams, but I don't know which chassis you have. If you'll do a search for Freightliner wiring diagrams you should find something that will help.

All Solera are on a Sprinter Mercedes Benz chassis but the trailer connection is more from Forest River in my opinion.
I will take a look at Sprinter diagram, who knows ?

I don't know for sure, but tracing the wire back to the driver's seat would lead me to think it's coming off the Sprinter chassis, since many (most) of the chassis electrical stuff is under the driver's seat.

Unfortunately, it's had to do anything with those fuses, breakers and relays without first removing the driver's seat. Not a huge deal, but a bit of a PITA...

Good luck!
Dave

Finally found that the black wire under the seau is the back-up camera. Still in search for power ! If I don't find, I will just run a new wire from the battery with a in-line fuse or canibalized another source of power in the rear area.
