There are many HD bulbs out there for most headlamp applications... stay away from Wal-Mart(cause you need customer service) and go to a parts store(et NAPA) ask what's available. The internet is your friend for research in this case... don't confuse HP/off-road brands for good. They are prolly just boxing another manufacturers stuff to resale. IMHO

Along similar lines,we have a lot of GM truck vehicles around here (pick ups,Tahoe's/Suburbans etc) and I have started to notice that many of them have one Daylight Running Lamp burned out or not on in the daytime.

I'm beginning to think the service life of these bulbs is not that long.

Low beams out. All other lights work

"This is not some vehicle this is a solera and this is a solera specific forum. Thanks anyway."

This comment struck me wrong...just because someone (SYE) was trying to help but does not list a Solera as his/her vehicle does not automatically mean that the suggestion is wrong or that owner's suggestion is invalid. All vehicles share common mechanics/systems and what has worked for one owner may work for others...even if they do not own a Solera. When asking for help all suggestions be it specifically from a Solera owner or from someone who has had this problem before just in another vehicle may solve the issue.

I do not know what causes it but all the Sprinter Ambulances around here carry 2 or 3 extra headlight bulbs at all times. Sometimes the do not make a entire shift before they blow. Just FYI.

Come on - No harm No foul. I've seen worse replies.

Maybe we have all been cooped up too long this winter.

Yep, low beams burn out. At 50,000 miles I'm on my third set and now keep four spares with me. Doesn't seem to matter whether they are Mercedes or others.

Be careful when changing the bulb. Do not touch the glass part of the bulb. Oils and moisture on your figure will cause it to break when you turn on lights.

Any chance the reply wasn't intended in the way it's being taken? If this isn't the case let's not forget that many posts can be of use to other members too. Please keep on sharing - I know I need the help.
