BC, Trust me we love the Solera and have been very happy with Forest River in general. And I know that most RV brands use some low quaility radios...

Truth be told I would have very satisfied if I could just have an ipod controler and a TV input. I don't need surround sound, or even a sub woofer. Just would like to be able to hear the TV over the A/C. Listen to the radio (er ipod) while ignition is off.

Any recommendations for a method to run audio out from TV to dash radio? lately I am thinking a second headunit in the house end of things might be a good solution to my issues without replacing the Jensen.

The problem is not necessarily the head unit, but the TV. The TV has to have audio out (if you're talking about Over The Air stuff). If you're using Satellite, you can feed the satellite audio into a Sound Bar.

Also, some of the sound bars out there have iPod docks built in. IF the TV has an "audio out", then you can probably change the head unit to something that has an "audio in"

DVD player is what gets used most... I plan on moving the FR installed TV to the bed room and getting another TV/DVD combo with audio output for the factory mounted TV location. My question is whats the best route to run the wires to the dash for the head unit. Or where are the wires for the rear speakers ran?

BTW someone here beat me to the punch on DonW's generious offer to buy the Magnadyne. So I am back in the market for an aftermarket replacement.

Do other's here with the Jensen headunit experience the same poor receiption, blinking light, etc issues as I have or is my unit somehow defective??

I like the manadyne unit but when it gets warm it goes crazy, it won't turn off and also turns on by itself with no one in the coach
It displays warnings about viewing DVD but we aren't playing a DVD only streaming an iPhone
I plan to call local dealer just wondering if others have issues when you are in 100+ degree weather with unit acting crazy

Have not had any of those problems and we have had our share of 100+ weather this summer. I would suggest you contact Magnadyne. Sounds like you may have something defective. I had lots of trouble with the ipod interface. They sent me a new unit and the problem was solved.

I looked at the magnadyne web site for phone and the m4 LCD retails for 829.95
Wow
Didn't realize units were so expensive
Guess forest river put a nice radio in my unit
Now to get overheating issue fixed

the devil you don't know

I took delivery of my 2013 Solera four weeks ago. The ONLY defective item in the rig was the Magnadyne radio.

They had to replace it - and that wasn't an easy job as the unit has to be removed by taking off the surrounding dash cowling and cut a nylon tie in the back that hold the unit in place.

The brightness is unusable in sunny California (Yes, I know about the brightness setting). The navigation is bleh.

I had a Kenwood unit in my 2012 Airstream Avenue and that is much better. Brighter display and a built-in Garmin navigation. Not sure if the size is the same though.

The only good thing I can say about the Magnadyne is that its iPOD control is really really good.
