Magnadyne GPS

Guts of Magnadyne:

The ugly back end of the head unit; I was checking the audio input aux 2 for the tv and i see they are clearly marked as well as the dimmer wire (good job). the U wire inserts do not work to release the unit. Note the tie- wrap. Holding the back to the housing! You must pop off the plastic front cover and remove 6 torx screws.

Yes, the U-bolts do not work on the Solera based on the dash design. On Ford and Chevy they work just fine. (darn germans).

Unlike a car...this one has 5.1 surround. So in addition to normal dash speakers, there are wires for a 2nd zone (so to speak) sub, GPS, Audio in, audio/video they say in Canada... It's a dogs breakfast.

Cut the dimmer wire today! Auto dimming was not a big deal unless I forgot to go to bright before pulling out. Then fiddling with the screens to brighten could be a little annoying. I was able to easily get to the wire by only removing the AC controls and the wire labeling made it even easier. I am still happy with the Magnadyne.
