Magnadyne radio time changes.

Current program is 8.3.5.199939 Jul 14 2011.

This morning the radio time is correct. The GPS time jumped from correct to
3 hours earlier. Jumped back and forth between the two times for a few seconds before settling on the 3 hours early time. I wonder if it is an antenna reception issue? My rig points directly west when parked next to the house.

I think you have to be over 50. My kids reach for their cellphone when they want to know the time. Seems like a lot of wasted motion to me!

I use the wrist watch most of the time; a genuine Casio. The first battery lasted 17 years.

You know it does not matter how many features the unit has if it does not work. I have a 2014 and have only 4000 miles on it. Waiting on a replacement now. Nothing on the unit works properly. Wish Magnadyne would just issue a refund. I know that Forest river has the best of intentions but this unit is just a bust. I plan to replace it but it is just a shame to need to on something so new and so expensive.

I agree. I had my Solera for just a couple of months before I bit the bullet and bought a replacement. We drive ours way to much to live with the Magnadyne unit. Personally, I love everything about our Kenwood unit.

Subscribing. I have the same issue with the gps clock being correct but the radio time changes back to an hour early. My unit is a Lanzar SNV695N (sold on Amazon) but uses the same mapping software. I'm waiting to hear back from an email I sent.

I like the Magnadyne. It works just fine for what it is intended to do. All of the functions work as advertised. The GPS time is the only issue with mine and I don't really use it anyway. The radio and chassis clocks work.
I do believe that everything should work correctly, especially for what is paid for these units.

I agree totally. I've been a defender of the Magnadyne while everyone else has been replacing theirs. I did have an early problem with mine, but a software update has taken care of that. The Magnadyne has a ton of features, and I find the user interface to be very friendly - as opposed to the top-of-the-line Kenwood we have in our Toad! My only "wish-list" item would be that FR would buy the MB chassis with steering wheel controls! It's a PITA to have to reach over - taking eyes off the road - to change volume.

I am also "the controls in the wheel" kind of guy. My other machines (motorcycle exempted) have it and I wish the Solera did as well. The Magnadyne does have many nice features and if folks would give it a chance I think they would like it.
MrJoe, I am still leaning toward the antenna as the culprit with the time. Let us know if the problem comes back, please.

I too like the Magnadyne features. They far exceed other options available. Sadly the reliability does not coincide.
I have been patient and endured the past year in hopes of resolution. But to no avail.
The I accuracy and fluctuating GPS, the random scanning unsolicited, do not even to mention the clock nor the fact you cannot read the screen in daylight hours all bring me to my New Year present of a different radio.
Sorry Magnadyne, concept great, follow through performance poor. Do not recommend

I'd love that. But its' sort of like me telling my kids. "I pay your college tuition I insist you get straight A's". In the end our only leverage is our business. We can take it elsewhere. We try and find balance. Consider the "Bell Curve". A small percentage of people don't care what it costs. They will pay $1000 for a top of the line system. Why skimp? An equal percentage don't want any bells and whistles. They want a cheap price so they're fine with radio only (as we see on some competitors). The heart of the market want a good number of features at a fair price. That's where we like to be. Great value. But in the end, it has to work. We don't see a whole slew of problems, but we see enough problems to cause concern. Unfortunately we are at their mercy in making those issues go away. If not, our only choice is to look elsewhere.

You know I understand what you are trying to do but, It seems like testing something before commiting to it would be the answer. It would be better if it did less if what it did worked. I know that you said that you use a portable GPS and do not count on the one in the coach. If you do find something else to put in your units how about us that are stuck with this one. Karen and I bought this unit because we are retiring and want to travel some. Knowing that the next one you put out will be better is not very comforting since this one may be our last.
